Introducing: Regulated Transcription

Gene expression is controlled in many different ways. When proteins from outside a cell signal for a specific gene to be transcribed, it is known as regulated transcription. This animation illustrates how a protein like insulin can trigger a regulated transcription event, in addition to setting off the signal pathway illustrated in our Insulin Signaling video.
